Knowledge test
A knowledge test in Knowly evaluates participants' or managers' knowledge through various types of questions, such as multiple-choice questions with correct or incorrect answers. You decide; How many correct answers are required to pass the test. What feedback participants receive after the test is graded. The number of attempts participants have to pass the test.
Plan Before You Begin
Before creating the test, think about its purpose and structure:
- Should the test be part of a larger learning journey?
- Should the learning journey consist only of a knowledge test?
The test setup can vary depending on whether it is intended to check factual knowledge, encourage reflection, or be part of a broader learning process.
Step-by-Step: Create a Knowledge Test
Follow these steps to create a knowledge test:
1. Add a New Activity
Go to your list of activities and select Knowledge Test as the activity type.
2. Name and Structure the Test
- Title and Description: Give the test a clear name and briefly describe its purpose.
- Slides: If the test covers multiple topics, divide it into slides for better clarity.
3. Add Questions
There are several types of questions and elements to choose from, depending on your goals:
Test Questions
Used to test factual knowledge.
Example: "In which year was the company founded?"
Open-ended Questions (not included in the results)
Ideal for reflection or deeper reasoning.
Example: "How would you apply these methods in your work?"
4. Configure Test Settings
In the settings, you can configure:
- The number of points required to pass the test.
- The policy for the number of attempts per participant.
- Feedback on the final screen:
- Should participants see their incorrect answers?
- Should correct answers be displayed?
5. Test the Knowledge Test
Take the test yourself to ensure everything works as intended:
- Check for spelling, scoring, and flow.
6. Publish and Schedule
Publish the test and make it available by scheduling it as an activity.
7. Analyze the Results
In the Activity tab, you can view participants’ answers and results.
Here, you can get an overview of:
- How many participants passed the test.
- Potential areas where knowledge gaps exist.
