Below you will find examples demonstrating how group meetings could be conducted. Each example is detailed in the level for you to use them as is, or you can have them as inspiration to create your own.

Exchange of experience in learning triads in leadership program: Share experiences from conducting difficult conversations

Background

The role of a manager can often be challenging. One particular tough task is to conduct difficult conversations with co-workers. One of the best ways to deepen the skills is to learn from others performing the same functions.

Purpose

The purpose of this meeting is to share experiences with managers. You should be given concrete advice on how to succeed better. 

Time management

Reserve 60 minutes. As a suggestion, start to present yourself short for about 5 mins. After that, you should go around the table and explain the difficult conversations you have prepared, 3 x 15 mins. Finally, let everyone in the meeting share what learning you will bring from the session, 10 mins. 

Assignment for buddy couple in a coaching program: Coach each other in NOPRA (NÖHRA)

Background

Being in a role as a coach can be challenging and alternately. The purpose of coaching will be to ask questions and let the colleague answer instead of yourself. This adaptation could be challenging. One good way to improve your performance in coaching is to practice and get feedback in a protective environment. 

Purpose

This meeting aims for you, as a buddy couple, to practice a coaching conversation without any pressure. Moreover, an important part is to experience being coached to understand your employees' points of view. 

About this assignment

This assignment aims to practice and experience coaching - not to learn the coaching questions by heart. Attached to this meeting, you will find a document with questions to use during the session. In the proposal, you will also find a suggestion for the meeting agenda. 

Time management

Schedule a meeting for 60 mins—Reserve 2x20 minutes for practice coaching. Then spend 20 minutes reflecting and discussing what's good and what could be done differently. 

Preparation

  • Set a goal for the coaching session - what would you like to talk about? (3 mins) 
  • Download the coaching template and make sure you have it near during the session (1 min)
  • Read through the agenda suggestion (1 min)

Background 

The role of a manager can often be challenging. One assignment many people seem to find particularly hard is difficult conversations. One of the best ways to come prepared is to practice with others in similar positions. 

Purpose 

During this session, you will together pick two difficult conversations and discuss how you would go about reaching the best possible outcome. The purpose is to learn from each other about planning, conduction, and follow up on some common conversions a manager can encounter. 

About this case 

Prepared, there is a list of everyday situations managers can encounter that seems complicated. Pick two of the most relevant cases for your group and discuss how you would go about it.

Assignment for learning triads in onboarding: What does our core value mean to you?

Background 

Our culture is an essential part of our workplace. A culture could be seen as a description of our norms at the workplace, creating our behaviors. New at a workplace, you will all be a part of the coming evolution of our culture through your behaviors. Therefore, early talk about our culture is essential, and even more important is how we act on them in our daily work. We have already, during this onboarding, presented you with our core values (but attached here if you do not recall).

Purpose 

We would like you to discuss our organization's core values as a part of your onboarding with this meeting. Together, you will concretize them and express how they could reflect on your daily work. Target the question, "What do these words concrete mean to me in my daily job?". Likewise, understand what the words mean for each of you. 

About this assignment 

We would like you to discuss our core values and formulates examples of how you could act on them in your different roles. There is no right or wrong in this assignment, and try think real, even if not yet happen, situations.
